Here are 3 classic exercises designed to help you get more clear on your STRENGTHSPATH.



Seven Stories

Consider your most rewarding and satisfying accomplishments over the course of your life. Use the "Factory Settings Lifeline" exercise to help you brainstorm at least 10 accomplishments, and then choose 7 you are most proud of. Pay careful attention to things you might of accomplished before age 14, but don't stop there.

Answer the following questions for each of your top 7 accomplishments:

Why were these accomplishments important to me?

What was it about them that I enjoyed most?

How was I involved? Was I asked, or did I initiate it on my own?

What was my key motivation?

What was the environment like?

What was the focus or purpose of the accomplishment?

What core values drove my work during the achievement?

This exercise will help you identify the key skills, core values and ideal work environment where you thrive the best. Use this information to brainstorm possible paths and associated job targets.


9 Lives


The 9 Lives exercise is simple:
    • You have 9 different lives. You must work in each of the 9 lives.
    • You will not win the lottery, inherit money or marry for wealth.
    • You already possess the personal strengths you need to do the job.
    • You make all the money you need to be completely happy.
    • Each job has equal prestige.

Career Task List

Take a piece of paper and make 3 columns... You can also open a Doc or Spreadsheet

Column 1: List every job you've held (just job titles/company names) in your career.

Column 2: List in great detail every task you did at each position.

Column 3: Go thru with a highlighter and highlight each task you enjoyed.
                 With a different color, highlight those tasks you disliked.

Step back and look for common themes where you've been passionate and where you have excelled.
